  1. The Lion is a large carnivore of the CAT
  2. family found in open country of Africa,
  3. with a few surviving in India. 
  4. They are large tawny-coloured wild cats.
  5. An adult male weighs about 180 kg and 
  6. measures about 2.7 metres from nose to tail.
  7. Females (lioness) are slightly smaller and
  8. have no mane. They live in groups called
  9. prides which has one male and several females
  10. and their cubs. They often hunt as a team, no
  11. other cats seem to do this.
